Education and Outreach

Throughout the process of gathering solid earth data and models, we have been incorporating the results into the Integrated Data Viewer (IDV) and the Jules Verne Voyager internet mapping tools. Both of these tools are being used by students and researchers alike and are advancing the earth sciences in the community.

A second way we are using these results is through collaboration with the people at the Digital Library for Earth System Education (DLESE). Using a global seismic tomography model and GPS data, a GIS educational module is being developed. This module will be another "chapter" in the Earth Exploration Toolbook (EET)

The EET chapters walk the user through using the data to create plots and then help draw conclusions. This program has many benefits for students, educators, developers and for researchers.
