There are two recourses for questions about the GEON IDV.
UNAVCO provides the GEON IDV for geophysics. For questions about use of the GEON IDV and working with data, send e-mail to Stuart Wier (wier
unavco.org). For questions about presentations about the GEON IDV, about the GEON project, and about policy-related matters, send e-mail to Chuck Meertens (meertens
unavco.org), head of the UNAVCO Facility.
Unidata, which is associated with NCAR the largest atmospheric research institution in the United States, is the home of the IDV. Unidata's IDV is the core of the IDV; the GEON IDV extends the Unidata IDV. The Unidata Support web site includes online support resources, including forums, mailing lists, support archives and email help for general IDV questions, ones not particular to geophysics data.
If you are in doubt about where to email a question, submit a support request to Unidata. If it should be handled by UNAVCO, Unidata will send it to UNAVCO.
Learn to use the GEON IDV
The IDV is a powerful, 3D, display system with a large number of features. It is generalized to display many kinds of data, not customized to show any particular kind of data in a particular kind of display in one step. Learning how it works will save a lot of time trying things.
